Florida’s Decorators Warehousing & Delivery was founded in 1997 to receive, inspect, store, and deliver furniture on behalf of nationally renowned interior designers. In recent years many local companies have sought out our services to provide full-service warehousing for contractors, manufacturers, schools, hotels, restaurants and more. We are a fast-growing company looking for self-starters interested in Florida’s booming real estate and logistics market.
The job requires both physical and mental skills. As the warehouse supervisor, you will assist the warehouse manager in overseeing the unloading of goods from our own trucks together with those operated by freight carriers. You will actively participate in the unloading process. You will assist in overseeing that the goods being unloaded are being properly inspected by our crews. You will actively participate in the inspections and, if applicable, the damage reporting process.
You will also assist in ensuring that the correct items or goods are being pulled from storage and loaded onto the proper truck or trucks, with no damage. You will assist in making efficient use of warehouse space and ensuring goods are safely and properly stored. You will assist in ensuring that the moving crews have all necessary materials for use on each delivery project as well as ensuring that all such materials are properly accounted for and billed to each project You will oversee the safety and cleanliness of the warehouse staff and crews.
You will also be required to use warehouse management software and databases. You will be provided with extensive training on our system such that you will be able to operate our system accurately and effectively.
You will be required to assist in setting and meeting the goals and objectives of each workday. You will orient, coach, and motivate employees. You will supervise the warehouse crew as to their daily tasks and projects while performing a wide array of those tasks yourself. You will work alongside the Warehouse Manager and the Operations Manager to create a plan to accomplish the objectives for the day, week and/or month.
The ideal candidate will not be afraid of physical work and be ready to learn our inventory software with such proficiency that he or she will be able to train others on the system. You will need to have forklift experience or alternatively, be able to engage in our on-site training and certification. Narrow aisle forklift experience would be a plus. You must have a great attitude and be ready to lead a team. You will need to have a customer-oriented approach with the motivation to make our processes even better as we grow. The overriding goal is to ensure smooth and seamless operations of the Company using a variety of skills all of which are targeted to create maximum efficiency and the highest customer satisfaction in the industry. Salary: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
